Benefits of Becoming a Member

Common Vision
We believe that systemic change will occur when empowered communities are truly active & informed about the root causes of social, economic and environmental injustice. Systemic change happens when we all share in the decision making, visioning, planning, strategizing & implementation. Join an organization that shares a vision similar to yours!

Work on Campaigns for Change
Members of the SAGE Council have the opportunity to work with a like-minded community of individuals as we continue to struggle for true justice for our communities. Since we formed in 1996, SAGE Council has been involved in several campaigns organizing for social & environmental justice. Some examples include campaigns to Stop Tax Waste, No Means No, Profit vs. Prayer, & Religious Tolerance.

Participate in Training
Members of the SAGE Council receive opportunities to enhance their community organizing skills and become more knowledgeable of social, economic, and environmental justice issues. Throughout the year training will be available for our members around issues affecting communities of color and skills to enhance our community organizing efforts.

Membership Meetings
Membership meetings will be organized 2-3 times a year to help our members stay better informed. These meetings will also engage members in dialog about our current efforts, find ways to get more involved and meet other members of the SAGE Council.

Stay Updated
To keep our members well informed, SAGE Council will provide quarterly newsletters, monthly email newsletters, email updates and an up-to-date website.
